Brown Sugar Pasta Delight {Quick & Easy Recipe}

Brown Sugar Pasta Delight {easy and unique dessert recipe}

Dessert?  Side-dish? Brown Sugar Pasta Delight is a little of both!  This recipe has been in my family and impressing dinner guests for years!  When I was a little girl, my mother would tell me stories of when her grandmother prepared this pasta dish for her.  The dish is unique and may seem “strange” but is sure to be loved by even the pickiest of eaters!

To prepare this dish, you will need your favorite variation of pasta noodle.  I tend to use veggie pastas or whole grain pasta, but I always make sure it has grooves or holes to hold the sauce.  The cook time will vary on the amount of and type of pasta you choose.  Just cook your noodles in water as usual and strain them when they are al dente.  Measure out your butter and brown sugar (generally 1/4 cup of each to 1 cup of pasta) and mix in.  Put back on the stove with low heat and stir until the butter has melted and the brown sugar has mixed in.

Serve warm and enjoy this wonderful, unique, and easy dish!

This delightful pasta recipe serves as a perfect dessert or side any night of the week! It has been passed down through my family from my great grandmother. Everyone loves it and it is so easy to make!
Recipe type: Dessert
Serves: 1-3
  • 1 Cup of Pasta
  • ¼ Cup Butter
  • ¼ Cup Brown Sugar
  1. Cook pasta al dente
  2. Strain water and place pasta back into pot on low heat
  3. Stir in butter and brown sugar until melted
  4. Serve
Pasta with grooves or hallow pasta will hold the flavor best. My favorites to use include macaroni, small shells, penne and rotini. The first time you make this recipe, you may want to taste test as you add brown sugar so it meets your preferred level of sweetness.

  3. Wow! Way to jump out of your comfort zone. Not sure if I will try that one I’m not that ambitious when it comes to new far out recipes because the men in my house are very picky and food is expensive but Thank you, it’s definitely a recipe I won’t soon forget.

    • DetroitMom (LaTonya Lewis): It’s a really low-cost recipe if you ever want to make it and the ingredients are ones that most people have on hand, making it even better. You ought to give it a try sometime!

    • Good question! I have never tried quinoa noodles before. As long as the noodles have grooves of some sort to hold the flavor, I think it’d be just fine. Please let me know how it is if you try it!
