Did you know that June 22 is Take Your Dog to Work Day?
Bil-Jac Super Premium Dog Food has provided me with some information regarding Take Your Dog to Work Day!
First celebrated in 1999, Take Your Dog To Work Day was created to celebrate the great companions dogs make and to encourage their adoption from humane societies, animal shelters and breed rescue clubs. This annual event asks pet lovers to celebrate the human-canine bond and promote pet adoption by encouraging their employers to support TYDTW Day by opening their workplace to employees’ four-legged friends on this one special day.
Furthermore, according to a recent study by the American Pet Products Manufacturers Association, one in five U.S. companies already allow employees to bring their pets to work. It’s no surprise – pets are natural stress relievers and can create a pleasant work environment!
Are you bringing your pup to work today? If so, here are some tips and etiquette suggestions to make sure your furry friend is a hit at the office!
- Your workplace will most likely be a new environment for your pet, which could cause some anxiety! Bring familiar items, such as your dog’s favorite snack or toy, to make your dog comfortable with the new atmosphere.
- Make a plan! Is your office puppy proof? Do you know a good spot for potty breaks?
- Keep your pet contained! Keep your dog on a leash or created a confined space for your dog to roam around.
- Bring plenty of food and water to keep your dog satisfied and avoid your dog becoming a distraction.
