Review: Bodyography Professional Cosmetics

If you are familiar with some of the top brands in makeup, you may have heard of Bodyography.  Founded in the early 90s and distributed in over 45 countries, Bodyography is popular among Hollywood celebrities as well as exclusive spas.  With over 300 products, the selection is amazing!  Given the opportunity to sample Bodyography’s products, I chose to try the Oxyplex Pearlescent Eye Colours.

Oxyplex is Bodyography’s new mineral makeup line.  Some of the top features of the Oxyplex eye shadow include anti-aging properties, vitamins and nutrients to restore your skin and enhance complexion.  The eye shadow is also known for being smooth, silky and lightweight allowing for easy application and great coverage.  The Pearlescent Eye Shadow is available in 6 shades, Bella, Brun, Joli, Lola, Lumiere and Tender.  Since I have light skin and tend to prefer neutral colors that closely match my skin tone, I chose to sample Lumiere and Tender.

When I first opened each eye shadow container, I was surprised by a cute little cotton pouf to apply it.  This immediately brought back pleasant memories of the cotton poufs similar to these (except larger) to apply the body powder that my grandmother had on her dresser.  When I was a little girl playing dress up with my cousin, I always loved acting just like my grandmother, dusting the powder on myself with the cotton pouf.  While I will probably stick to using an eye shadow brush to apply the eye shadow, I liked that the cotton pouf was a cute little surprise which also gives the added choice of using the eye shadow on your cheeks for a little extra shimmer.

The first shade I applied was Tender.  The shadow went on very smoothly unlike many eye shadows I have tried before.  The light pink was hard to see against my fair colored skin but still gave my eyelids a smooth, slightly pinkish glow.  Next, I tried Lumiere.  As I applied it, the eye shadow developed a gold, shimmery tint against my skin.  Since the eye shadow is light weight, I decided to also test layering it by trying the two colors together.  When used together (Lumiere on top of Tender) the shadows look even more amazing!  The mostly matte, light colored Tender matched with the glimmering Lumiere was an awesome mix!

Bodyography is cruelty free and does not test products on animals.  The products, however, are tested by clinical dermatologists to make sure that they meet certain quality standards.  Like I said before, Bodyography is a top cosmetic brand even used by Hollywood celebrities and makeup artists.  Be sure to visit the “Get the Look” section of the Bodyography website to learn how to create two looks including the smokey eye!

I have been impressed with the smoothness and quality of the Oxyplex Pearlescent Eye Colours that I tested and look forward to trying more Bodyography products in the future!  If you are a cosmetologist or just like to have a large selection at home, definitely check out the make up sets available in the online store.  There are even smaller kits that are perfect for those who are still learning what products to put together to create a specific look.
