Review: Bright Starts Jammin’ Jungle Activity Gym

As many of you know, I have two sons – one who is 18 months old and one who is 1 month old.  Both are growing and developing every day.  It is amazing to see and I am so proud of them.  After my older son outgrew some of our infant toys, we gave them away to someone else who needed them, so we had to start fresh with a few things for my newborn.  I started looking around for a toy that would get his brain stimulated…something with bright colors and toys to help him develop motor skills.

Bright Starts has a variety of activity gyms that are great for infants.  My favorite, the Jammin’ Jungle Activity Gym, is gender neutral and absolutely adorable!

In the box:

  • Baby-safe mirror
  • Giraffe bead chaser
  • Tiger-shaped teether
  • Colorful monkey rattle
  • Elephant plush toy that features pull-activation with 4 melodies
  • Machine washable play mat
  • 4 Fun Links for adding extra toys
Other features:
  • Musical toy contains non-replaceable batteries
  • Weight/Height: No Restrictions
  • Age: Birth & Up

The bold colors and adorable characters make the Jammin’ Jungle Activity Gym perfect for my son.  The mat can be used for tummy time or even while your baby is laying on his or her back.  When laying on his back, Evan looks around at the hanging toys and I can practically see his brain at work, taking in all of the colors and shapes.  Within the next month or two, he will start developing motor skills, reaching and batting at the toys.  I can’t wait!  He will discover that when he pulls the Elephant, he will hear music…and if he takes after his older brother, he will absolutely love that feature!

The mat is very easy to put together and take apart, making it great for portability.  You can rearrange the included toys however you think would be best for your infant and even hang up to 4 additional toys.  With a toddler in the house, I often have to put away the swing when it is not in use because he will pull on it or try to climb in it.  The activity gym is safe to leave down.  When not in use by our newborn, Alex can lay on or carry around the activity gym without hurting himself.
