Review: Namaste Hermosa bag

Now that my son is 15 months old and I am adjusting to being a first time parent, I have come to realize that I don’t always have to take both a full diaper bag AND my purse into the store with me every time.  I recently started looking around for a bag that could serve as all-in-one, offering enough space for some baby essentials as well as my wallet and other items from my purse.  After a looking around, I found a line of bags for that very purpose made by Namaste Inc.

Namaste Inc. believes in being animal friendly and kind to the earth which can be seen in the materials they use.  The Hermosa bag by Namaste Inc. is available in black, expresso, eggplant and red faux leather.  The Hermosa interior is made of a soft gray microsuede made from recycled plastic bottles.  As a fellow pet lover myself, I was happy to read the “About Us” section about Namaste’s staff’s furry (and feathered) friends which are allowed in the office to keep the customers and staff alike in good spirits and keep the staff company on long days.  There is nothing like having your pet curled up next to you while you work (I actually have both of mine cuddling me right now!)

Standing at 14 inches tall, 18 inches wide and 7 inches long, the Hermosa bag is the largest bag created by Namaste.  The handle is 10.5 inches which is perfect for tossing the bag on my shoulder and picking my toddler up.  The Hermosa stands on its own with little metal feet and has structure which is perfect when I need to sit the bag down without the contents dumping all over.  The bag features 2 exterior side pouches, 2 exterior zipper pockets, an exterior document pocket and 3 interior pockets.  I am a fan of pockets and pouches – I absolutely love organization and having a designated spot for everything from hand sanitizer to my sunglasses.  I do wish that there was a divider longways in the main compartment of the bag, but the bag still functions great for my needs.

When my Hermosa bag arrived, I was pleased with the packaging.  The bag was packaged carefully with tissue paper around a soft cloth bag to ensure that the bag did not get scratched in transit.  Once fully unwrapped, I was able to appreciate the magnificent size and structure of the bag.  My 15 month old was curious as I was opening the package so I snapped a quick photo of him by the bag.  I absolutely love that it stands so well on its own because there have been too many times in the past that my bag has fallen over and I had a mess to pick up.  At just about the same size as our diaper bag, the Hermosa is perfect for us.  I have space to keep a few diapers, baby wipes, snacks, a spare outfit, a drink as well as my wallet and some personal items….even my camera!

With fall and winter coming up, the Hermosa bag will make it so much easier to carry the essentials in ONE bag while also carrying my son.  I won’t have to worry about struggling with two bags on top of our coats and my squirmy toddler.   I definitely suggest the Namaste, Inc. Hermosa bag for any mom who is seeking a stylish yet practical all-in-one bag.  Even if you do not have a child, this bag is perfect to carry your laptop, coupon binder, overnight items for a small trip and so much more.

It took me awhile to realize that too (that I didn’t need both bags). Although I’m always happy whenever one of my purses is big enough to fit the diapers and snacks as well as my own stuff. This bag is GORGEOUS! And looks exactly like something I would use.
