As a mom, you know that sometimes you don’t have the time or the money to take care of yourself. You get so busy chasing around the little ones that you forget how important it is for you to take a moment and care for your hair, your skin and your face.
Well mommy, you may not have realized that you CAN take care of yourself on the cheap, even when you can scrape together a little time. Not only can you find great natural products so that you know you are keeping the environment your children are growing up in safe, but you can also find great products in your own pantry and refrigerator.
For Your Hair
Take some time to think about your hair and what it needs. If you’re washing your hair too often you may find that it is dry. If you have dry hair you’ll want to do a treatment to help improve the oils in your hair. One great way to do this naturally, without spending a ton of money, is to grab the coconut oil. Warm up a little and rub it into your hair and scalp, especially your end and let it sit an hour or so before rinsing it out. This is a great way to help dry hair and you can do it as often as you’d like or need.
If you suffer from dandruff, add a little tea tree oil to your shampoo. It’s a regular ingredient in natural dandruff shampoos and conditioners and buying your own can save you some money.
For Your Face
Come up with an easy and regular routine. You know that as a mommy you don’t always have time to put on makeup, but you should always take time to wash your face. Once in the morning and once before bed works great. Find a natural product that gives you a quick wash. Something like pre-moistened washing cloths can even save you time because you don’t need to rinse.
Then if you are fighting dry, oily or combination skin, try a once a week facial. Mash up strawberries for a healing and moisturizing facial. If you have dry skin your coconut oil can help too. For oil skin, use some fresh lemon juice mixed with witch hazel for a nice toner.
For The Rest of Your Body
Coconut oil, amazingly, is great for your entire body. Use it at night on callused heels to help your feet look gorgeous in sandals. Use it after the shower to help put oil back in your skin. You can even add some to your regular lotion for extra moisture.
If you suffer from dark spots on your skin, lemon juice can naturally help even them out. If you suffer from skin tags, you can find a natural skin tag remover that is gentle and safe for those with sensitive skin.
As you can see, there are plenty of great products out there that you can use and squeeze into your busy mommy routine.
